Budget plans

Monthly SEO toolset cost: what $100 and $1,000 buy

Two budgets, two honest plans. Every figure here is an example built from published prices, so swap in your own headcount before you copy anything.

The rule behind both plans

Pay for people-time in seats and machine-time in credits. Mixing the two is where budgets leak.

Our credits cost $0.0001 each, with no subscription and no monthly minimum, and a new account gets $100 free. That means the link-data line in a monthly toolset can be close to zero, and the real decisions sit elsewhere: keywords, rank tracking, content tools and reporting.

Run the plan for one quarter before judging it. Seasonal teams in retail or travel may see a spike in November or June, and a metered line absorbs a spike without a plan upgrade.

What we would do with $100 a month

A two-person team, one site to grow, no agency clients. Hypothetical, as is everything on this page.

  • Link data: about $1

Weekly competitor checks and a monthly export of your own referring domains come to a few thousand credits at most. The signup credit covers a very long time of that.

  • Search Console: $0

Google Search Console shows your own queries and clicks for free, and no paid tool beats it on your own site's data.

  • One paid keyword tool: the rest

Spend nearly all of the budget on a single keyword and rank product. Which one is your call, because that data is the part we do not sell.

  • Skip the suite seat

At this size a second subscription is a luxury. Keep the free checks and one paid tool, and review in March.

What we would do with $1,000 a month

Example allocation for a six-person team with a handful of client sites. Not a price list.

Before you lock either plan

  • List every recurring link export and name its owner
  • Price each export in credits using the published action costs
  • Mark jobs that need data fresher than a month and keep them in a suite
  • Set a quarterly date to remove one tool you did not open
  • Compare against a plan such as Ahrefs from $129/month before you renew anything

When to move from the first plan to the second

Move when people, not data, become the bottleneck. Headcount is the trigger.

At three or more people who explore data daily, a shared suite seat usually pays for itself in saved hours, and the $100 plan starts to feel cramped. At that point keep the meter for scripts, add the seats, and let the link line stay near zero. The mistake to avoid is using the larger budget to buy a second tool that does the first tool's job.

Google's own tools remain the base of both plans. Search Console and, for traffic, Google Analytics cost nothing, and they describe your own site better than any third-party database can.

Two questions about prepaid credit

Is $0.0001 per credit a trap? No. It is the price on the account page, loaded in advance, so you spend only what you put in and nothing renews. Every authenticated reply carries a _credits field with the cost of the call and your remaining balance.

What if the credit runs out? The API returns HTTP 402 and stops charging. Top up with USDT on TRC-20 from the account page, or stay on the free actions. Nothing is billed behind your back.

For a sense of scale, see the per-call cost table and the sheet and cron setup.
